Transfer Switch Update- UL 1008 Revisions
The 7th Edition of UL 1008 became effective November 1, 2014 and has resulted in significant changes to the short-circuit ratings on all transfer switches in the industry. Short circuit events can have catastrophic consequences to other equipment and more importantly to operating and maintenance personnel. As a result, this latest UL 1008 revision has made subsequent changes to the standard to ensure transfer switches are adequately tested to safely withstand and close on the short-circuit ratings shown on their labels.
