It was during the move process and reviewing the costs of the electrical installation that made them ask, \u201cIs there a better way?\u201d On a site visit to one of their suppliers, SMC Corporation, Helmer asked what in the ceiling was powering the massive facilities infrastructure. SMC gladly informed them that they were using Starline busway to power the multitude of devices and manufacturing items in their production area. After a few meetings as well as a \u201cvalue engineered\u201d offering from the bidding electrical contractors, Helmer knew that having Starline in their production and manufacturing areas would long term save them money on the moves, adds, and changes that were happening weekly as they rearranged their manufacturing cells to keep up with product demands. Having Starline allowed them to adjust their facility layout on the fly, without having to call and electrician in to move rigid conduit and permanent facility wiring to meet the new demands. Only Starline with its ability to remove and insert bus plugs while the busway is energized, allows Helmer to constantly adjust to the ever changing demands of a high volume production atmosphere, without disrupting the remaining active manufacturing cells.
