Project Details:
When Amazon built its new 80,000-square-foot facility in Winchester, KY, they needed critical power support. The state-of-the-art facility was the world’s largest Amazon customer service facility, with almost 1100 seats. The Winchester facility is distinctively different from those already in Louisville, Lexington, Campbellsville, and Hebron, as it exclusively focuses on technical support and customer service instead of warehouse order fulfillment. The entire facility is a critical power application that looked to CM Buck & Associates Power Division and ASCO Power Technologies for a reliable emergency power infrastructure solution.
Solution Provided:
3000 Amp ASCO Series 7000 Service Entrance Rated Automatic Transfer Switch at 277/480V to provide emergency power to the entire facility. A quantify of 2 150kW true on-line double conversion uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems with matching battery cabinets consisting of 8 minutes of battery backup was also provided for redundant power for this facility’s most critical loads.
